Memories In The Sand: Great Gift or DIY

By Shayne Benowitz

A few months ago, one of our lovely brides Nelanie sent us a link to the Memories in the Sand Blog where she purchased a picture of her and hubby Scott’s name written in the sand. Of course, as Key West destination wedding planners, we absolutely loved the beachy memento. Nelanie found this husband and wife photog duo through the Bragging Bags store on Etsy, which carries a ton of personalized keepsakes perfect for weddings.

If you’re landlocked with no beach in sight, the Memories in the Sand folks make this an easy and affordable wedding present or keepsake. For only $9.99 they’ll create a personalized message scrawled on the beach and send you the electronic file to download.

Being a bona fide beach girl, I thought this would be a sweet and easy DIY project. All you need is the beach and a camera! Then, let your inner artist come alive! Find a pretty picture frame or decorate a standard one yourself with seashells, and voila! You’ll have a heartfelt, personal gift to give to the bride who has everything.

I have fond memories frolicking through the sand as a little girl writing names and designs in the sand. Who am I kidding? I still do this today! Coincidentally, when I read the blog, Ann (the wife half of the husband/wife duo) grew up in the same Southern California beach town as I did! I knew that coastline looked familiar…
