For some weddings, you’re told to pull out all the stops. That’s a dream as a wedding planner. In the case of Megan’s brother Brandon and his bride Samantha’s big day, it was a wedding of epically glamourous proportions. The ceremony was held at St. Mary Star of the Sea and the Casa Marina Resort hosted a fabulous reception for over 275 guests.

Samantha and her bridesmaids got glamourous at the Casa Marina with Southernmost Glam before making the trip to St. Mary Star of the Sea for the ceremony.

Megan’s fiance Jared waited at the church door as guests filed into the cathedral where Milan Events created an English garden motif, a nod to the beautiful, blushing British bride.

During the traditional Catholic mass ceremony, family friend Suzanne and her son Jackson performed a beautiful song. It was such a special moment. In addition to the lovely flowers, the couple opted for a chic black and white theme for decor.

After the ceremony, it was time to head back to the Casa Marina for the reception. What was the couple’s getaway car? None other than a Rolls Royce provided by Key West Executive Limousines. You’ve got to make your departure in style!

Because of the size of the party, we had to utilize two ballrooms and two patios at the Casa Marina for the reception. A cocktail reception was held outside on the patios and dinner was held in the Flagler Ballroom. The tables were decorated elegantly with pale pink and white flowers, candles, and black and white table linens.

A few special touches included  a candy bar with candies that Samantha flew in from England and custom Jones Sodas with a picture of the couple affixed to the bottles.

It was a special moment for everyone during the toasts, and Megan gave a great speech to the newly married couple. The cake was a beauty to behold and so delicious! Key West Cakes created a layer cake with key lime, passionfruit, and chocolate ganache layers, as well as after party cupcakes.

After the formal dinner, the toasts, and cutting the cake, the party moved to the Grand Ballroom for drinks and dancing! We had party furniture rentals from Bubble Miami. It was such a modern, chic touch! The party danced the night away to the sounds of the 10-piece party band Soul Survivor. So much fun!

The one demand Brandon had was a late night Taco Bar, and a late night Taco Bar he got! It ended up being the perfect touch because all that dancing can really work up your appetite. For party favors, guests went home with English tea and tea cookies. Studio Julie was there for all of it, and you can see all the gorgeous pictures in her four part series (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4) on her blog.

The whole wedding was  a spectacular affair that we will remember for a long time at Swankey Events. Megan especially wishes her brother and Samantha a lot of love and happiness in the future. Congratulations!

  1. I love the late-night taco bar idea! I can see how some might prefer the breakfast bar or the cookies and milk set-up, but tacos are soooo much fun! What a great wedding!
